Been a long day. Long week. But luckily I have friends in town. Two people I haven't seen in almost three years - from Fantasy Island. Wahoo for having the Ryan sisters in town. But boo for not having the time to write.
So like most Fridays, I'll present you with a video, just without all the usual explanations. Bottom line? Australia is beautiful and I can't wait to make it there (Mom - ball is in your court). The person who made the video below is talented for a few reasions. A) He/she understands how to effectively use split-screens. B) They know how to compose a shot well. C) Clearly they have an eye for what to shoot in terms of movement and points of interest. D) It is edited pretty tightly with the music.
Best part though? You literally get to see all of Australia.

Awesome video you found. It makes me want to buy a camera haha so here's a question: What camera would you recommend that takes good quality pics/videos, is great for a moderate level person like me, and something I can use to experiment with different styles.
ReplyDeleteDrew, this is SO cool! I will do my best to get us to the Barrier Reef to dive :) I am actually meeting the 'Aussie Crew' when they are in the U.S. next month. I get to host them for 2 days.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the camera and editing work in this. I see what you mean about the film being able to illustrate good split screen. At 0:56 - 1:20, I loved the action of the camera that makes everything look miniature. At 2:22, there is a shot of water drops on the car window. It brought me back to the black and white shots you took at the Grand Canyon.
Forgot they drove on the 'wrong side' of the road!
Navitas is situated in Perth - while the beaches look great, I think I want to see the entire island when we are there :)
Was SO taken with the various water - the waterfalls, the oceans, the harbor. I think the only thing that we didn't see was a 'Roo!
ieyu, ilys!
