Yes, it's 4:30 in the morning and I"m just as confused as why I'm not asleep as you are.
I'm new to this whole blogging thins (bare with me, I'm sure I'll fall into many cliches before this whole endeavor is over, but I'll try to avoid as many as I can). Sorry, that last sentence was one of those cliches.
I'm lucky enough to be one of the members of the graduating class of 2010 out of Ithaca College, specifically through the Roy H. Park School of COmmunications. I majored in CInema Production and while I think I know what I want to do with it, I don't think I actually have a clue - so this is where this blogs comes in and the adventure begins.
In two weeks I'll begin my journey west to LA to meet up with my two roommates in Culver City and begin my new life there. Just me, a friend, my life, stuffed in my tiny Honda Civic coupe, with 3100 miles ahead of us. This blog's sole purpose is to allow you to join me on my adventure - the cross country drive, the crappy songs sung loudly in the car, the wrong turns taken, and the turmoils of finding a job in this wonderful economy.
Yes - this is all a blog cliche.
Yes - it is very unoriginal in theory, but its content will be unique, I promise.
I'll do my best to avoid describing the mood I'm in for every post, the song that I'm listening to while writing, and who I'm crushing on at the current moment. Just don't expect and update everyday. I'm still new at this - heck, in the morning when I wake up, I'll probably have already forgotten I even made this.
Look for random thoughts and texts until I depart. I'll try to post some of my creative writing before then so you can get to know me and how my mind works - this man com in the form of poems, lyrics, scripts, photos, or short stories.
Thanks for stumbling upon this and giving me the time - hopefully you'll stick around and read more.
-Drew
P.S. This entry is dedicated to Catherine Ryan who suggested I create of of these to document my journey west. So, if you love it, feel free to praise her. If you hate it, she's to blame, not my poor writing and its lack of personality.
